::Fired up!
What's the word? A-word up! This week was the "Get Fired UP" edition of FM Roots Radio featuring a lovely band of bouffant beauties, Soraria. (Each with their own individual hair style). I shared a Dolly Parton moment with Sue (lead singer), E.T. the Extra-Terrestial reared and elevated his creepy neck into the show and Shedtown Larry got fired up to the sky!. To the moon, Alice!
- On a side note: My E.T. the Extra-Terrestial impression that aired this week pales in comparison to how closely I genuinely can imitate E.T. given the right circumstances and the correct ambience. (try doing your own E.T. impression at home, kids! Holding your hand over your mouth really helps...in a lot of situations.)
Here's my FM Roots musical fixins:
Dolly Parton - 9 to 5
Neil Young - Cinnamon Girl
The Zombies - I Want You Back Again
T. Rex - Slider
T. Rex was a '70s glam-rock band led by Marc Bolan. I suggest listening to all of their songs and watching all of his performances. David Bowie first met Bolan in the '60s. He says their conversation went as follows: (via ukrockfestivals.com)
Bowie: Hello, Who are you?
Bolan: I'm Marc, man.
Bowie: What do you do?
Bolan: I'm a singer.
Bowie: Oh yeah, so am I. Are you a mod?
Bolan: Yeah I'm king mod. Your shoes are crap.
Bowie: Well, you're short.
Cute, huh? Here's a video of Marc Bolan performing "Children of the Revolution"
In other news, FM Music had their 1st award's show, The Folly's! We recorded the lovely event and will have it to you soon. Graham won an award for being an anarchist, just when I thought anarchy in the USA never wins.
Thanks for tuning in & getting fired up! Stay tuned for information on Mike and Lewis's newest business venture in Moon Shine distribution at Doc's Music Hall next Monday!
